Are there any current situaations in the world that relate to the novel? what are they, and how do they relate? does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?

I think North Korea’s current situation does relate to this novel. As you know, North Korea is run by Kim Jong il and the idea of communism, which is a main point of the revolution occurred in the story. The animals weren’t quite satisfied with their current life, so they carried out a reformation. However, as time goes by, the animals gradually feel discrimination rather than equality and are controlled by the upper classes, pigs and dogs. Similarly, North Korea began its government with communism. I think Napoleon and Kim Jong il are quite similar in the way they act and the way they are. They both rule the whole community. Windmill and nuclear program also have connection, I think, as both of them draw attention from others like Napoleon and other nations. The other similarity I found between the story and North Korea is that the animals and North Korea cannot live by themselves and need help and support from others. For example, South Korea has been giving financial support to North Korea. Likewise, the leader of all the animals Napoleon changes the name of the farm from Animal Farm to Manor Farm again, which indicates the will to live together with humans. I do not think this novel sheds any light on how current situations could be resolved or “fixed” because the last scene in the story has proven that the revolution was pointless. It is because the animals have not met their initial goal of the revolution, equality without any human beings involved. The animals and the leader Napoleon finally decide to cooperate with humans again for their benefit, and yet find disagreement soon after by playing a card game..
